I've heard of a shoe addiction, but never a font fetish.

So my paycheck is going to my fontbook ever since I found myfonts.com I can't help myself my shopping cart is getting so big, and I just keep lusting after more fonts. This is bad right? How am I ever going to make money if I spend money on fonts as I work?
Ah, shoot wanna see what I've bought so far?

The Color Purple

"... Listen, God love everything you love-- and a mess of stuff you don't. But more than anything else, God love admiration.

You saying God vain? I ast.

Naw, she say. Not vain, just wanting to share a good thing. I think it pisses God off if you walk by the color purple in a field somewhere and don't notice it.

What it [God] do when it pissed off? I ast.

Oh it [God] make something else. People think pleasing God is all God care about. But any fool living in the world can see it [God] always trying to please us back.

Yeah? I say.

Yeah, she say. It [God] always making little surprises and springing them on us when us least expect."
(pg.191)

Wow. Thick theology in a small bit of dialogue. The speaker says "it" instead of he or she because God obviously doesn't have a gender. And the release of having an icon or picture of what God looks like brings freedom.

Being that this is a book, I love the character description for God. The creator of all things good. Why did he create the color purple? Because he loves us. And I LOVE him [it] for creating the color purple. (and for a lot of other reasons too)

Reading is le sexy!

What I've been reading these days East of Eden by Steinbeck, Black Swan Green by Mitchell, Downtown Owl by Klosterman, and Franny and Zoey by Salinger. I've been reading more this past season than I did in college, and it feels so good. When I read a lot, like how I've been reading lately, I feel right with myself. I doodled this satire illustration... with the help from some artists. (My favorite book in this pack was Franny and Zoey pick it up!!!)

The picture above is how I feel when I'm reading haha and the picture below is what I look like when I'm reading.
Bahahaaa!

Mountain Romance (save-the-dates)

Hey, Hey, hey look who just got engaged. I'm so happy for you Megan!

The picture was taken in Colorado right after he proposed
(We're printing these save-the-dates at the end of this week)

Mother England and her wedding

I'm working on Jack and Brit's wedding invitation. It's English themed, hence the flag, Big Ben, and the London Eye. My favorite part about working with this couple is when they say cheers instead of thank you at the end of an email. Love it! I can't wait to print this baby out on beautiful paper so I can post a better picture of it.

My first wedding invitation creation

I think I fell in love with paper last March.
It was my spring fling that is still going strong.
These invitations stem from my new love, and
I guess that is why they're wedding invitations.

{The checker pattern in the background alternates between a
flower pattern and an old vintage church illustration.}

Hire me!

In my desperate job hunt for a creative job I decided to try a creative approach. I'm inquiring at this textile pattern studio that executes their designs onto fabrics. I really would like to work there! So I sent them my resume, portfolio and a cover letter transferred onto a t-shirt. The catchy line I went for went like this,
"Overall, it would be an exciting and worthy pursuit to see design transferred onto fabric."
** (I know God is a God of order and plans. {insert a sigh of peace} All the good, all the successes come from his power and in his name!) So maybe I get the job, or maybe I get the next job, or maybe I wait on him for the 20th job... the point is I wait on him.
